Clinical Supplement Unfair Practice Charge

AAUP filed an Unfair Practice Charge with the New Jersey Public Employment Relations Commission (NJ PERC) on February 18, 2005 charging that UMDNJ violated the law by altering a condition of employment without first negotiating with AAUP. AAUP is objecting to UMDNJ unilaterally eliminating a portion of a faculty member’s compensation, specifically a patient service component or clinical supplement. A meeting was held with AAUP and UMDNJ by NJ PERC on June 22, 2005 in an attempt to resolve the matter, but no resolution occurred. A pre-hearing conference was held in this matter on March 28, 2006, and a multi-day Fact-Finding Hearing will be held on August 7th through 11th, 2006.
